Ayurveda yoga course consists in 4 workshops over two days, to progress from basic understanding of the Doshas, to Ayurvedic nutrition using food as medicine, recognize and correct your imbalances, and how your actions can prevent and ease conditions.

Ayurveda teaches that we are all different and is based on an individualized holistic approach to finding the root cause of diseases, instead of treating just the symptoms.

Unlike modern medicine systems, Ayurveda has always had an individualized approach to health.In this course, we will look at this science adapted to our modern style of life, starting from understanding your individuality, what your body needs to maintain good health which is unique to you.

  • Understand the Dosha is the basis of this system. Once you know what is your individual constitution, your individual needs to stay healthy, you’ll learn to recognize when you are out of balance, what puts you out of balance and how to reinstate it. 
  • We will look at physical practices, in particular, yoga and how it affects your balance in a positive or negative way. Physical practice is an indispensable part of staying healthy, however, the wrong exercise can cause negative effects on health. 

Yoga and Ayurveda are sister science and they are both parts of the same medical science, used together can be a very powerful medicine for body and mind.

  • You will discover what practices to do daily, your specific Daily Routine to support and maintain good health. Showing you how to prevent diseases on a daily basis, why these practices are important, what they do and how they correspond to the healthy functioning of your organs, preventing the most common diseases such as heart diseases, obesity, diabetes, etc. 
  • We will look at nutrition, using food as medicine, how digestion works and signs of accumulation of toxins and steps to prevent diseases. What food to avoid, food combination and what type of diet is recommended for your type.
  • You will gain a good understanding of how Ayurveda works for you, how to detox your body, recognize when this is needed and why ignoring the symptoms of toxins accumulation will in time cause chronic diseases. 

This course will give you the knowledge on how to bring your mind-body system back to balance according to your own individuality in a holistic way, which is what modern medicine is missing.

Ayurveda is a science that has been tested by thousands of years of knowledge which only recently modern medicine is catching up, coming to same conclusions and proving what Ayurveda medicine has been saying all along.

Ayurveda is also called the ‘science of longevity’ because it offers a complete system to live a long healthy life through nature without modern medication. It offers programs to rejuvenate the body through diet, nutrition, physical practice and exercises, meditations. It offers treatment methods to cure many common diseases such as food allergies, which have few modern treatments.

However, one should be aware that Ayurvedic nutrition is not a magic instant fix, it takes time and requires a commitment to succeed, you become responsible for your own health, it is self-empowering. Ayurveda is not a nutritional system for those seeking a temporary fix to then return to their habits that cause illness in the first place.

Structure of the Course

Day 1

Workshop 1.    Understanding the Dosha and Yoga for your Dosha.

During this workshop, you will be introduced to how this system works:

  • Discover your unique individual constitution
  • understand more about your individual body system
  • what creates balance and how to correct imbalances
  • How to practice yoga based on your Dosha for self-healing purposes. We will have a tester practice for each of the Doshas where the focus is not on specific poses, rather on how you can adapt your yoga once you recognize your imbalances.    

Workshop 2. Ayurveda Yoga Daily routine.

  •  Learn how to adjust your daily routine to your specific Dosha promoting balance and healing.  Prevention is better than cure. Adapting a daily routine that is specific to your constitution means you can maintain good health and prevent diseases.
  •  we will look at practices to do daily, when to do them and how. Demonstration of Ayurvedic self-massage, why we should practice this every day and how it prevents diseases including heart diseases.
  • You will learn about building a daily schedule that is specific to your needs, what is the healthy exercise, when to practice and how everything that you do daily has an impact on your health and when it is best to engage certain activities, including meals to support your mind-body system.

Day 2

Workshop 3. Ayurvedic Nutrition.

  • Learn what is the food that is best for your Dosha and how to prevent and cure imbalances with what you eat. We all heard the say: You are what you eat. In this workshop, we will discuss how food affects your mind and body system and what diet promote health and longevity. 
  • Every person digests and assimilates food differently, discover how you digest food. 
  • Differences between Ayurvedic Nutrition and modern nutrition. Modern nutrition doesn't take into consideration individual physiology, state of mind and constitution hence most time people react differently and might not work. why diets don't work and why Ayurvedic system does.
  • Ayurvedic food as medicine
  • food combinations
  • type of food to balance each of the Dosha
  • spices, how and when to use them, what benefits do they give and how they can help reinstate balance.
  • food digestion and how to help your digestive system to prevent diseases.
  • Ayurvedic nutrition and modern style of life. 
  •  "Ayurvedic food" methodology of structuring diets according to your individual metabolic functions.
  • Vegetarian or Vegan is not Ayurvedic food, understand why.

Workshop 4. Ayurveda Detoxification for your Dosha

This workshop is the key to prevent diseases. In our daily life, we have accumulation of toxins from environment, food we eat, our bad habits, medicines and other chemicals we digest or breath (pollutants). It is important to give our body and mind a break from toxins every so often so that the body can recover and reinstate good health.

If detoxification is not done regularly, toxins accumulate and cause illnesses and diseases, when this becomes chronic they are a cause of death.

We will look at:

  • the process of detoxification
  • how food can be used for this purpose
  • other cleansing practices
  • herbs and oil to use to clear accumulation of toxins
  • cleansing yoga practice and spiritual practice to detox body and mind.
  • The body has to be cleansed in its wholeness.  
  • how to customise your Ayurvedic home detox  based on your Dosha/imbalances.
  • 3-5 days seasonal detox for your personal imbalances with recipes.
